Will Chelsea drown in their deep pool of talent?

Hazard, Oscar, Mata, Willian, De Bruyne, Schurrle - these names inject excitement into most football fans across the globe. However as a Chelsea fan it worries me. There are just too many of them. It’s put me in a real predicament - I’m excited to see a creative brand of football but sceptical it will keep unity within the squad.

Most people will talk about that ‘nice headache’ that The Special One will have picking a three to sit behind Fernando Torres or new boy Samuel Eto’o but who’s going to be on that team-sheet every week? There are two Brazilians, two Belgians, a Spaniard and a German who will all be looking for regular football; especially with a World Cup coming up.Mourinho_pensive1

Season Preview 2013-14: Fulham

Being asked to write about Fulham is like being asked to write about the sky - it’s just always there. In the last four seasons, they’ve finished; 12th, 9th, 8th and 12th again. Mid-table consistency. New seasons arrive with no real fear of being relegated and no optimism of anything more than a cheeky cup run. Fun.

Chelsea FC: New Year’s Blues At Home

Matthew Harding Upper, Shed Lower and Shed Upper. I’ve sat in three different sections of Stamford Bridge for three games, but every one has been the same old story.

It’s been a miserable 2013 so far as Stamford Bridge for Chelsea fans, and I’ve unfortunately been in attendance to all the games. After saying goodbye to Stamford Bridge in 2012 with an 8-0 (EIGHT – still not sure why we have to spell it out, but there it is) win over Aston Villa, was Rafa actually starting to turn a few of The Bridge faithful towards him? Of course not. And if the Chelsea fans needed any ammunition to boo the current interim manager, 2013 has certainly brought that.

Season Preview: Arsenal

Are they a feeder club? Are they title contenders? Nope, they’re Arsenal.

They’ve lost their Robin, and the big question surrounding Arsenal is, where will the goals come from? The Dutchman scored thirty league goals last season, which earned the North London side a top four finish. He wasn’t just a goal scorer, he was also their leader, their captain.

Ok, I’ve ticked the Robin van Persie box, now shall we talk about players that should actually be there next season?

Team Profile: Croatia

When I think of Croatia in the Euros, (apart from shocking kits) I think of this:

Davor Šuker lit up Euro ’96, especially in the 3-0 win over holders, Denmark. Euro ’96 was Croatia’s first Euros; they got out of their group but lost to the Germans (who went on to win it) in the quarter-finals. I digress though, that was just a trip down Euro memory lane.
